MV Sigurd Cow Hollering In Hold (EM14)

The Earl Sigurd, Steel Screw Steamer  served the northern Orkney Isles for over 30 years. A familiar sound aboard the Sigurd was a cow lowing in the hold. Animals were winched on and off the deck using a steam crane. This sound was recorded c1960-1975.
