Crows.

Q. Where do you remember hearing this sound?

Papdale House, Kirkwall

Q. What is your memory or story surrounding this sound?

At my family home of Papdale House, in Kirkwall. We lived in Papdale House, which is located next to a wooded area. Unlike the majority of Kirkwall (and Orkney) where it is often said there are ‘not many trees’. So, the sound and sight of many crows, was not a regular occurrence, when elsewhere in Orkney. At home, it was constant and very noticeable….
